When curing resin products, in many cases, it is necessary to add fillers to the resin. After stirring evenly and standing for a period of time, a layer of transparent liquid will appear on the upper layer of the mixing barrel, which is called layering phenomenon. When using pure polyester curing agent for curing, the following methods can be used to avoid this situation.
1. During the production process of resin, a large amount of substances that are not well cross-linked with styrene monomers are used, which can easily cause resin layering. Therefore, attention should be paid to the amount of this substance in the production process.
2. In order to reduce the viscosity of the resin, adding a large amount of diluents such as styrene can also easily cause delamination. This requires us to reasonably control the amount of diluent to avoid layering.
3. The addition of white mineral oil, engine oil, etc. is the main cause of stratification phenomenon. So it is necessary to strictly control the amount of oil added, generally not exceeding 0.5% of the resin amount, and add it within 15-20 minutes before the application.
4. The moisture in the stone powder can directly cause resin delamination. The very humid stone powder stirred causes a large amount of resin to separate styrene, and at the same time, bubbles continuously emerge from the mixing barrel. At this time, it is necessary to replace dry stone powder in a timely manner. The slurry should be treated in a timely manner, otherwise it will become very viscous and unusable after a period of time.
